The Sila Singers

School of Arts and Science

A throat singing dyad from Labrador and Nunavut which came together in Treaty 6 Territory by chance or magnetic (Inuuk) force. Jenna and Malaya’s performance combines their ancestral songs alongside their own compositions as informed by their lived experiences. Sila Singers create a playful and educational music experience rooted within their Inuit culture and community, telling the audience a story or two.

Registration is required but the event is free and open to the public.
